Job Description

Marketing Intern

i9 Sports is the nation's first and largest youth sports league franchise business in the United States, with over 3 million registrations across the country. We believe the number one reason kids play sports is to have fun, and we are looking for a creative, motivated Marketing Intern to help us spread that mission across Delaware. This role offers a unique "360-degree" marketing experience, blending digital strategy with boots-on-the-ground physical marketing. You will work directly with the Area Developer to increase league awareness and drive registrations.

Digital Marketing (The Strategy)

  • Content Creation: Assist in drafting weekly community emails and engaging social media posts to keep our families informed and excited.
  • Market Research: Identify and research upcoming local community events, festivals, and school functions across Delaware where i9 Sports can make an impact.
  • Campaign Tracking: Help monitor the success of digital outreach and suggest new ways to reach local parents.
  • Outbound Lead Management: Conduct outbound calls to potential members who have expressed interest in our programs.

Physical Marketing (The Execution)

  • Community Outreach: Distribute flyers to key stakeholders, local businesses, and parking lots.
  • Brand Visibility: Manage the strategic placement and maintenance of road signs throughout the territory.
  • Event Activation: Represent i9 Sports at in-person events to build relationships with families and answer questions about our programs.
  • Gameday Support: Assist with on-site marketing displays and occasional equipment/materials organization as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled at an accredited university or college (Marketing, Communications, or Sports Management majors preferred).
  • Location: Must reside in Delaware and have a deep knowledge of the local community.
  • Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license for commuting to events and placing marketing materials.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Mindset: Outgoing, proactive, and comfortable speaking with parents and community leaders.

Internship Details

  • Status: Unpaid Internship (College Credit available upon request).
  • Hours: Flexible/Varies. Must be available for occasional weekend events and gameday activations.
  • Experience: No prior sports industry experience required, just a passion for marketing and youth development!

Each franchised location is independently owned and operated and is solely and exclusively responsible for determining local hiring decisions, compensation, benefits, and other terms of employment.

With over 3.5 million registrations in communities across the country, i9 Sports is the nation's largest multi-sport provider focused solely on high-quality, community-based youth sports programs. We offer youth sports leagues, camps and clinics for kids ages 3 and up in today's most popular sports such as: flag football, soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and lacrosse. To achieve our mission of helping kids succeed in life through sports, i9 Sports provides a youth sports experience unlike any other, teaching the importance of good sportsmanship on the field and in life. We are committed to providing age-appropriate instruction, making sports fun for kids, and convenient for today's busy families. To us, it's The Way Youth Sports Should Be.
