Job Title: Combo Welder Job Description

We are seeking experienced MIG Welders to support a fast-paced production line environment. This role involves MIG welding black carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe, including flanges and elbows, with a strong focus on cycle time, takt time, and repeatable quality. Ideal candidates are comfortable working on a moving line and maintaining weld quality while meeting production targets.

Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG welding on black carbon steel pipe up to 8 inches and 4-inch pipe assemblies.
  • Weld carbon steel to stainless steel, elbows, and flanges connecting to compressors.
  • Complete welds through all three welding phases: root pass, fill pass, and cover cap.
  • Properly prep material by grinding, beveling, and cleaning for weld-ready condition.
  • Maintain consistent weld quality in a high-speed, production-focused environment.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and production procedures at all times.
Essential Skills
  • Proven MIG welding experience with black carbon steel, stainless steel, and dissimilar metals.
  • Strong understanding of pipe prep, including grinding and fit-up for flanges and elbows.
  • Proficiency in root, fill, and cap techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • Understanding of takt time and cycle time in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working on or alongside a production line.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Recent and extensive experience with steel welding.
  • Experience with TIG welding and pipe fitting.
  • Fabrication skills.

Work Environment

The work is performed on a moving production line, emphasizing speed, efficiency, and repeatability. This is not a custom or job-shop welding role, and candidates must be comfortable with repetitive work and maintaining quality under time constraints. The first shift runs from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and may require additional hours and weekends. The role requires lifting and moving up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Climbing portable ladders and using personal protection equipment is required. Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
